The Ganymede Telebot, an Enabling Technology for Teleconferencing

Accessibility for the handicapped goes far beyond providing ramps and elevators in buildings, cars, airplanes, and buses. Some, such as those afflicted by Multiple Sclerosis, do not have the health to travel even when physical access is available. The Telebot prototype demonstrated at SC'98 integrates teleconferencing with life-sized display screens, robotics, and high-speed networking - to ensure that handicapped participants have both a virtual presence and an equal presence as regular participants.
