With multiple national and international partners, including the StarLight Consortium, and the Metropolitan Research and Education Network (MREN), established an initiative, StarWave, to explore the potential for supporting data intensive science with high performance optical switching. Funded by The National Science Foundation’s Advanced Research Infrastructure (ARI) Program, StarWave is a multi-100 Gbps facility supporting services within the StarLight International/National Communications Exchange Facility. StarWave provides support for large scale E2E WAN flows, Including 100 Gbps and multi-100 Gbps flows (800 Gbps-1.6 Tbps) as well as for programmability of those flows.
